BCCI Rejects Sushant Singh Rajput Starrer Biopic On MS Dhoni

Friday, 5th September 2014, 06:00 PM IST Mahendra Singh Dhoni, by far the most successful captain of the Indian cricket team, will have to wait until he retires to see his life being depicted on the big screen.
It is learnt that the Indian skipper had given his nod to a biopic to be helmed by Neeraj Pandey. The film was to star Sushant Singh Rajput as MSD. Dhoni had even demanded a whopping 40 crore for the rights to make a film on his life.
However, the biggest spoiler for any Dhoni or Sushant fan is that BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has claimed that no film can be made on Dhoni’s life as long as he continues to play the game professionally. A friend of MSD informed, “MSD has no choice but to comply. To begin with, it was not a commercially viable project because a sports drama, even on a game as popular as cricket, has a niche audience. But the real roadblock came from BCCI. If we do go ahead with the film it will only happen after MSD's career on the field has come to an end.” |
