A civil suit to banthe poster and the release of the movie has been filed by Hemant Patil, asocial activist.According to the suit, the nude poster is vulgar and obscene, and has the tendency to corrupt the minds of the people. The plaintiff claimed that the poster is being plastered everywhere, including newspaper, television, and the internet. Additionally, the plaintiff said that by appearing nude, the actor has done a‘shameful’ act, which does not go with his clean image, and needs to withdraw such obscene pictures immediately.Thesuit appeals for a permanent injunction from the court to stop the release ofthe film in India, also to put a ban on publicity material until objectionable scenes are removed.Thedefendants of the suit are Censor Board office bearers, film’s producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, director Rajkumar Hirani, and actor Aamir Khan.Lastweek, the Supreme Court dismissed a PIL that sought a ban on the exhibition of the film’s posters in which Aamir Khan stands on rail tracks naked."If you don't like them, don't watch the film but don't bring religious facets in it. These are matters of art and entertainment and let them remain so”, opined the Apex Court. |
