Wednesday, 10th September 2014, 03:30 PM IST Irrfan Khan will no long be a part of Vashu Bhagnani’s upcoming film ‘Welcome To Karachi’. While the cast and crew of the film were waiting for him in London, the actor, who was supposed to board a flight today for the shoot, refused to do so.
Irrfan called Vashu at the last minute stating that he cannot do the film as he has ‘date issues’. A source close to the development revealed, “Initially, Vashu thought Irrfan was joking. But Irrfan told him that he was serious.”
The distraught producer said, “I'm shocked. How can someone back out at the last minute, leaving the entire cast and crew stranded in a foreign country? I thought Irrfan was kicked about the script. He's like family and I tried reasoning with him. But he refused to relent.” And now Irrfan is out of the project.
“I could wait for him for a couple of days but he can't expect me to wait for a month in London. Imagine the kind of money I am losing because of Irrfan’s sudden decision?” said Bhagnani. The film, that also stars Arshad Warsi and Vrajesh Hirjee, revolves around two Indians who land up in Karachi without any documents and find themselves entrapped in various difficult situations. |
