Friday, 12th Sept 2014, 3:32 PM IST In recent times, a lot of films have faced the wrath of activists and the latest film to be the target of activists is ‘Finding Fanny’.Activists in Karnataka had filed a petition against the release of the film. They had claimed that the dialogue, "We've crossed into a mental state," shows the state in negative form. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had approved the line; however the makers of the film decided to re-dub the line as they don’t want to hurt anyone’s sentiments. Homi Adajania, the director of the film says that the dialogue actually refers to Arjun's "state" of mind and not the"state" of Karnataka. Homi said, "He's exasperated because just when he thought they were at the end of a long arduous journey, Naseer's mistake has put them off track. If anyone understood it differently, they misunderstood our intentions.” The director also added that his heroine Deepika Padukone is from Karnataka and he would never purposely sadden the locals of her state. "We are not trying to create a sensation in any way,”he added. Well, finally they decided to re-dub the line and now Arjun’s character will be shouting in the film instead of the dialogue. "So, we have dubbed Arjun's scream over the line to drown the words which offended certain sensibilities. The scream does not interfere with the narrative in anyway and I hope it will appease everybody in the state," said Homi. |
