Friday, 26th Sept 2014,1:37 PM IST Nikhil Advani's ‘D-Day’ starring Rishi Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Irrfan Khan, Shruti Haasan and Huma Qureshi released in July last year with‘U/A’ certificate. It was a critically acclaimed film, however a social activist Teena Sharma had filed a PIL in Delhi High Court that the film should get an ‘A’ certificate. In response to it Delhi High Court has asked the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to review the certification. The film was given a U/A certificate, by former CBFC CEO Pankaja Thakur. But, Teena says that the film has a lot of adult content. While the Delhi Regional Officer who was given the authority to review the certification didn’t say anything about it, producer Vivek Rangacharya, who was present at the review said, "The film has retained the ‘U/A’ certificate. But yes, there are three to four points in the film where new cuts have been made." He revealed what has been deleted. He said, "Rishi Kapoor's foul language had to be edited out." Rishi played the role of Iqbal Seth, a character apparently inspired by real life don Dawood Ibrahim. Talking about the film once again getting the ‘U/A’certificate, Teena said, "If the Delhi High Court demanded that the CBFC should see the film again, isn't it clear that my concerns were legitimate? If need be, I shall request the intervention of CBI.” A source close to the project says that now the makers will try to sell the satellite rights as soon as possible. The source said,"If he gets an ‘A’ certificate, the price will drop." |
